OverlaysThis method reinforces the natural nail, without extending the length of the nail. A thin layer of acrylic or fiberglass is applied to the natural nail. This method can be used on any length of nail and is a great solution for those who may prefer to grow their own nails.
MaintenanceThere are two methods of maintaining artificial nails, the backfill and the rebalance or more commonly known as "fills". In order to maintain a healthy acrylic or fiberglass nail, fill-ins are necessary to prevent lifting, or exposure to bacteria. The backfill maintains the "smile line" of the forever french and rebalances the regrowth area at the base of the extension. This maintenance is recommended every 10 - 14 days. The rebalance/fill-in maintains the regrowth area at the base of the acrylic, fiberglass extension or overlay. Also recommended every 10 - 14 days.
Light Concept Nails (LCN)LCN is a versatile resin, with a gel-like consistency, that can be applied over a tip or sculpting form to add length to the nail. It can also be applied as an overlay to enhance strength to weak or fragile nails. Some of the advantages of LCN nails are:It is a non-porous acrylester resin - highly recommended for clients who have repetitive exposure to water. It will not yellow - LCN nails are fully cured using UVA rays in one application without requiring a 24 hour cure time, unlike acrylic nails. There are no offensive odors or vapors. There are no teratogenic risks during pregnancy. It is non-toxic and non-aggressive. Easily removed by filing - no soaking in aggressive chemicals. No primer is used. Acetone nail polish can be used and will not dissolve the product or remove the high gloss finish. This superior technology is an excellent solution for clients who have experienced lifting with traditional acrylic nail products. The recommended maintenance for this product is 3 weeks.
